Product description

Traxxas Jato 3.3 Nitro RTR Stadium TruckThe Traxxas Jato 3.3 Nitro RTR is quite impressive to say the least.  What do you get when you cross a Traxxas Jato with a powerful TRX 3.3 Racing Engine?  That's right!  You get the Traxxas Jato 3.3, the incomparable street fighter, with its wheelie bar and asphalt-hugging Anaconda performance tires.  Does your street have a few potholes?  No problem--the Traxxas Jato 3.3 just keeps on going.  This puppy is built for off-road and yet its still faster than the typical on-road RC car or truck.  Can the Jato 3.3 accelerate?  Are you kidding?  How about 0-60mpg in 4.2 seconds with a top speed of 65+ mph.  Are you an experienced driver looking to put your RC racing skills to the test?  Sounds like you need a Traxxas Jato 3.3.  2nd gear wheelies anyone?

As you have probably already deduced, the Traxxas Jato 3.3 derives part of its name from the fact that it is built with the TRX ® 3.3 Racing Engine.  Correspondingly, the Traxxas Jato 2.5, the predecessor to the Jato 3.3, was built with the TRX ® 2.5 Racing Engine.  Okay, so what's so great about the Jato 3.3 vs. the Jato 2.5?  We're glad you asked!  Once considered to be the most powerful smallblock engine ever tested by RC Car Action Magazine, the TRX ® 2.5 has now been surpassed by the TRX ® 3.3 by a wide margin.  In fact the TRX ® 3.3 Racing Engine is larger and quicker than its predecessor.  The TRX ® 3.3 outputs an incredible 60% more peak horsepower than the TRX ® 2.5 for crying out loud!  To drive this baby you need to operate at a high skill level and have the quickest of reflexes in order to handle the insane speed and acceleration that the Traxxas Jato Nitro RTR 3.3 delivers.

The sheer muscle power of the Jato 3.3 simply blows away your average RC truck or car that is optimized for on-road driving--the Jato 3.3 is faster and at the same time can handle all of the rough patches, too.  That's what is so amazing.  The Jato just dominates--period!  A versatile suspension, giant Anaconda 2.8" tire treads, and sway bars that are adjustable endow the Traxxas Jato Nitro 3.3 with the streetwise reflexes that enable continuous fun even without a smooth race course.  Be sure to vist the recommended merchant website at www.HobbyTron.com for more information on the Traxxas Jato 3.3 RTR Nitro Stadium Truck.

Product Research

The general online consensus from other owners of the Traxxas Jato 3.3 is that this RC truck is a sure winner.  Across the board, owners seem to be very satisfied.  Over and over again, users rave about how fast the Jato 3.3 is due to its insanely-powerful engine.  Our research revealed that although the Jato 3.3 is built to handle off-road adventures, it appears to be best suited for asphalt and concrete surfaces right out of the box with occasinal off-road patches like grass, curbs, potholes, etc.  It seems that many of the most satisfied users were driving their Jato 3.3 RTR on asphalt or concrete surfaces mixed with occasional rough surfaces like curbs, grass, potholes, speed bumps, etc.  Also, the steering is not as good as some users would have liked when operating at extremely high speeds--but, to be fair, this could possible be due to the inexperience on the part of the users rather than due to the Jato 3.3.  Our research also revealed that the Jato 3.3 needs to be operated by a more advanced person, not by a beginner.
A few owners have claimed that if you take the time to make some upgrades (e.g. new tires) you can improve the off-road handling.  Furthermore, the Jato 3.3 RTR is extremely easy to start as it has a Traxxas EZ-Start ® feature that easily lights your glow plug.  So, if you are in an urban area and will be driving primarily on asphalt or concrete surfaces, but would like your RC truck to handle the occasional curb or pot hole at full speed without shattering into a million pieces, then the Traxxas Jato 3.3 will probably make you extremely happy.

So, the handling is better in smooth to moderately-rough off-road surfaces and not as good in very rough off-road areas.  Also, the steering is not as good at extremely high speeds as some users would have liked.
